Do not leave liquid to sit on the stone surface as it will penetrate and may cause staining.

To protect the surface from heat, always use a trivet or a coaster underneath hot plates, pans, or mugs. Using felt stoppers when you place decorative objects on the surface, will help to prevent scratches or marks.
