At Originals, we design, develop and source products of excellent quality. When you choose our furniture and homewares, you choose an item that is intended to last.

Your items will require care and maintenance to ensure they remain looking their best. For detailed care information, please see our Care & Maintenance.

We provide the following warranties.

General Cover


Originals will cover all issues relating to product defects, either of workmanship or materials.

The decision to do this will be at the sole discretion of Originals. If the defect or damage is caused by improper use, insufficient care or modifications made to the product, the item will not be covered by warranty.

Originals will repair or replace the product or part with identical materials. If identical materials are unavailable at the time, the product or part will be replaced or repaired with materials or products of equal or better quality.

Warranty Does Not Cover:

  • Items not purchased directly from Originals.
  • Items used in situations other than residential use, or items in improper use.
  • Damage caused by lack of appropriate care and maintenance.
  • Fading due to sunlight exposure.
  • Variations in colour or texture of fabrics.
  • Variations in timber, stone, or other natural materials.
  • Damage caused by using improper cleaning products, oils or chemicals.
  • The appearance of mold or mildew.
  • Damage due to pets or rodents.
  • Typical flattening or compression of cushions due to regular use.
  • Regular wear and tear.

Indoor Timber Furniture

Indoor Timber Furniture

Structure: 5 Years

We provide a five (5) year warranty to cover the structural integrity and any manufacturing defects of all our timber products from the date of purchase.

This includes the cost of parts, labour and transport.

This applies to all furniture used with normal treatment in the home.

Please note that our timber furniture is for indoor use only, unless we state otherwise.

All timber, especially recycled wood, will always come with their own indentations, blocks, and fillings.

We don’t try to hide these or select timber that comes without them.

The originality and value of the pieces is in the authenticity of the natural characteristics of the timber.

It will be affected by climatic conditions, much like skin texture. It will be affected by extreme dryness - it can shrink, and by extreme humidity - it can expand. This can cause bows, and splits, and changes in the color of the wood. These changes are not covered by warranty.

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear.

Finish - Not covered

The finish on all timber products will wear naturally with use. Please see our Care & Maintenance to see how best to care for or refresh your items.

Indoor Upholstered Furniture

Indoor Upholstered Furniture

Frame: 3 Years

We provide a three (3) year warranty to cover the structural integrity and any manufacturing defects of all our sofas and armchairs from the date of purchase.

The warranty specifically relates to frames, suspension, and support.

This includes the cost of parts, labour and transport.

This applies to all furniture used with normal treatment in the home.

Upholstery & Indoor Fabrics

Upholstery & Indoor Fabrics including cushions, throws and bedding:

Manufacturing Defects: 1 Year

We provide a one (1) year warranty to cover manufacturing defects on all fabric and leather coverings used on upholstered furniture, cushion, throws, bedding.

All our Originals fabrics have been hand selected from quality mills and fabric manufacturers from across the world.

This warranty on fabrics and leathers only covers manufacturing faults on the zips, Velcro, and stitching.

As the care for each type of fabric may differ, refer to our Care & Maintenance instructions to learn about the best way to care for your fabrics.

Fabric Defects

Fabric Defects

Many of our fabrics are created with natural materials.

This means, there can be slight variations between batches and runs.

The most common variation is in colour.

Leathers

Leathers

Please note we use full-grain leather on our furniture.

These leathers have natural characteristics like marks, scars, insect bites and other markings and are normal parts of the animals hide.

They are not considered defects.

Environmental conditions, including direct sunlight, can affect the performance and appearance of leather and cannot be warranted.

Microcement

Microcement

Structural: 2 Years

We provide a two (2) year warranty to cover the structural integrity and any manufacturing defects of all our microcement products from the date of purchase.

Finish - Not covered

This warranty does not cover scratches, marks, chips and cracks which develop as a result of improper use.

The surface of these natural materials is porous. Any liquid or food marks must be wiped off to prevent marks, stains and cracks from forming.

Marble & Stone

Marble & Stone

Structural: 1 Year

We provide a one (1) year warranty to cover the structural integrity and any manufacturing defects of our stone products.

Finish - Not covered

This warranty does not cover scratches, marks, chips and cracks which develop as a result of improper use.

The surface of these natural materials is porous. Any liquid or food marks must be wiped off to prevent marks, stains and cracks from forming.

Mahogany

Mahogany

Structure: 5 Years

We provide a five (5) year warranty to cover the structural integrity and any manufacturing defects of all our mahogany - stained dark brown products from the date of purchase.

This includes the cost of parts, labour and transport.

This applies to all furniture used with normal treatment in the home.

Please note that our mahogany - stained dark brown furniture is for indoor use only.

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear.

Indoor Metals

Indoor Metals

Structural: 5 Years

We provide a five (5) year warranty that covers the structural integrity of our metal products.

Minor corrosion spots under tabletops, seats and bases do not affect the structural integrity of the product.

Please note that our timber furniture is for indoor use only, unless we state otherwise.

Originals cannot guarantee powder coat finishes against scratching, scuffing, chipping, fading, or corrosion that results from direct seafront locations, improper use or insufficient cleaning.

Cushions & Inserts

Cushions & Inserts

Seat cushion cores - in both unattached cushioning and attached cushioning - will soften with normal use over time and conform to the shape of the user.

This is considered normal wear and is not considered a loss of resilience or a material manufacturing defect.

Rattan

Rattan

Structure: 1 Year

We provide a one (1) year warranty to cover any manufacturing defects in the rattan. Cosmetic or colour differences in the rattan are not considered defects.

Breakage or disintegration of the rattan as a result of spills, fluids or exposure to sunlight is not covered under this warranty.

Lighting

Lighting

Electrical: 1 Year

We provide a one (1) year warranty for all lighting products. The warranty specifically relates to electrical components.

Rugs

Rugs

Manufacturing Defects: 1 Year

We provide a one (1) Year warranty against manufacturing defects in all our rugs.

Normal wear and tear does not come under our warranty.

Roll and fold marks from shipping do not come under warranty, as they will disappear with routine cleaning and vacuuming.

Insects/Termites

Insects/Termites

No warranty.

As part of our production process, we kiln dry and fumigate all our products to make sure the wood is clear of insects and prevent movement in the wood.

Sometimes - especially in tropical climates like Singapore - the timber may still attract insects. It is important to care for your pieces appropriately to ensure they remain free from pests.

Mould

Mould

No warranty.

Mildew and mold grow on dirt, pollen and other organic matter; so simple routine cleanings will prevent them from forming on fabrics or timber.

Certain environmental conditions will be more conducive to mold.

Outdoor Furniture

Outdoor Furniture

Outdoor Frame: 1 Year

We provide a one (1) year warranty to cover the structural integrity and any manufacturing defects of all our outdoor furniture frames.

Minor corrosion spots under tabletops, seats and bases do not affect the structural integrity of the product and are not covered by warranty.

Timber color - if left uncovered, untreated teak will slowly fade and begin to acquire a beautiful grey patina typical of untreated teak.

This is not a product defect and cannot be warranted.

Originals cannot guarantee powder coat finishes against scratching, scuffing, chipping, fading, or corrosion because of direct seafront locations, improper use and insufficient cleaning.

We have taken great care in designing and building our products to stand up to harsh environments, but nothing is foolproof. Care and maintenance are required to ensure the proper lifetime of your furniture.

We provide a one (1) year warranty to cover manufacturing defects on outdoor fabrics. This covers manufacturing faults on the zips, Velcro, and stitching.

We use industry leading outdoor fabrics, including Sunbrella and Batyline, amongst others.

It is recommended that all outdoor products are kept in covered areas, as goods that are exposed to extreme weather conditions cannot be warranted.
