Lozi Mortar Stool
Our Lozi mortar stools are unique vintage items selected from remote Zambian communities. Each mortar has been tenderly repaired and rebuilt after being used in the community kitchen to pound grain and maize.
Each stool is individually hand-carved from local wood by a community member, giving it a one-of-a-kind appearance for your house. The wood of the mortars has wonderful wear and patina due to exposure to the environment and everyday use.
